What services do we provide?
We currently provide moving labor help in two location, one in Washington state and one in Arizona. At our flagship location, we service the Greater Puget Sound area from Olympia to the Canadian border. In Arizona, we service the Metro Phoenix area and can travel further on a case by case basis.
We specialize in helping our clients load and unload moving trucks (Uhaul, Penske, and Budget), ABF trailers, and containers (POD’s, Relo Cubes, Packrats, etc.). We service private homes, apartments, work studios, and storage units, as well as staging companies, and small businesses. We provide the strong backs so you don’t have to break yours.

What makes Thumbs Up Moving Labor unique?
Unlike many full service companies, we don’t sacrifice the quality of our movers just to make a profit. We know that keeping our employees happy ensures that our clients are happy. We keep our overhead low so we are able to offer our clients affordable rates while also maintaining employees that care greatly about their work. This is why we give as much of our profit back to our employees as we can. For example, we pay our employees for every happy client photo and good review they receive because we want to make sure that each and every client is happy with our service. All of our movers are also internally employed; we do not contract out our movers nor do we hire day laborers. They are all fully trained, uniformed, background checked, and covered by workman compensation. Most of all, our employees are great people that truly care deeply about their work. We believe that a great company starts with happy employees so we do everything we can think of to keep our employees happy.
How does Thumbs Up Moving Labor charge?
We have a two hour minimum plus a flat-rate, one-time travel fee. If we go over the two hour minimum, we prorate the additional time in fifteen minute increments so you only get charged for the time you actually need our services. Unlike other companies who rely on large moves to make a profit and will only move everything or nothing, our business model allows us to be more flexible and accommodating. This is beneficial to our customers who have smaller jobs or just want to hire us for the two hour minimum to help with heavier items.
Does Thumbs Up Moving Labor require a deposit to book? When do we pay?
We do not require a credit card or deposit at the time of booking. You will pay the movers directly with cash, check, or card when they are done with the job. We understand that there are many moving parts when planning your move so we understand when clients have to change dates or cancel.
Can you drive the truck for us if we rent a truck?
We do not drive trucks for our clients currently. Our clients either drive the trucks themselves when they need to or they have a friend or family member drive it for them when they aren’t comfortable.
Does Thumbs Up Moving Labor provide packing services?
We currently do not provide packing services. Our clients are packed up and ready for our movers to load their items safely and securely or efficiently and mindfully unloaded them.
Why doesn’t Thumbs Up Moving Labor have trucks?
When we started our company in 2012 in Washington state, we noticed that while there were many full service companies already in business, there was a shortage of companies that focused on providing high quality moving labor. Many of our clients are happy to rent trucks and save money. Often, clients can use one for free from their storage facility. A lot of our clients also need help loading or unloading containers or trailers for cross country moves and don’t need trucks! Since we do not have the overhead that comes with trucks and the cost involved with maintaining, fueling and licensing them, we are able to provide more flexible, reliable, and affordable moving labor help.
Does Thumbs Up Moving Labor charge extra for credit cards?
We do not charge extra for credit cards. We accept all major credit cards and you don’t pay anything until the job is done.
What areas/regions does Thumbs Up Moving Labor service?
In Arizona, we service Salt River Valley/Metro Phoenix Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert, Surprise and other areas. In Washington State, we service these counties: Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, King, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, and parts of Mason, Jefferson, Clallam, and San Juan.
